Baseball Game

I recently went to the TLU baseball game and was impressed with the team. I went to the first playoff game against UTD and TLU feel into an earlier deficit going down nine to one in the first four innings. Although I know TLU's baseball team has a never quit attitude, I thought the game was over only to see our team fight all the way back and win. It was an incredible come from behind victory and should be a huge momentum boost heading into the tournament. Facing adversity was probably a great thing for our bulldogs considering they had so much success this season. This game and series versus UTD will no doubt help the team in the long run and hopefully lead to an ASC title and a national title.

Finals are over

Finals are finally over and I could not be more relieved. I had so many finals to study for and not to mention a research paper. I had a major setback when my computer crashed and I could not find my research paper file. So not only was I in the middle of studying for finals but I also had to rewrite everything I had done for my research paper. I had to take a couple of deep breaths and tell myself it was going to be okay because I was on the verge of having a major breakdown. But now everything is over and I feel like a giant ape just jumped off my back. Thank goodness school is over...for at least a little while.

Summer

Summer can't get here fast enough. I need a break from school and need to make a little cash. I am going to be a waiter at a restaurant called BJ's. It is a nice restaurant/brewhouse and I am excited to be able to wait tables there. I am also going to be doing offseason workouts for basketball to try and be in the best shape I can for next season. It is going to be an extremely busy summer but I am looking forward to the change in lifestyle for a couple months. I am sure by August I will be ready to come back to school but right now all I can think about is how much I want to get away for a while. Another week of school and I will be in the clear for a couple months. Summer...please get here.

Finals

With so many finals to study for, I find myself extremely stressed out with not enough time in the day to accomplish everything. I have four finals and a research paper due so I have to spend my time wisely in order to accomplish all of my tasks. With summer so close it is hard to stay focused on everything. I am getting tired of school and my brain needs a break for a couple of months. Hopefully I can stay focused long enough to do well on my finals and on the research paper.

Easter Break

My Easter break was a blast. I got to spend time with my parents, my brother, and two of my good high school friends. It was probably the best Easter break I have had in a long time. My best friend's family had a crawfish boil over Easter weekend. The crawfish was amazing by the way. I got to hang out with him and his family along with another high school friend and his family. I think I ate crawfish for almost 3 hours straight. That night, as I reflected on my day, it almost made me sick to my stomach to think about how much crawfish I actually ate. But anyway, the weekend was awesome, getting to spend time with friends and family. I hope everyone else had as good of weekend as I did.

Paid too much

I was watching ESPN the other day and say that Joe Mauer, a Minnesota Twins professional baseball player, just signed a new 8 year $184 million dollar contract. To me, this is a little ridiculous. I know these professional athletes are entertainers and if you can entertain somebody you can get paid, but $184 million dollars over 8 years. That is almost 2 million dollars a month for eight years. When you break down the numbers and realize exactly how much these athletes are getting paid, it is a little overwhelming. Couldn't some of this money be put to something else. I am a fan of professional athletes and professional sports and in order to keep athletes playing at the highest level, there has to be a big reward. But $184 million dollars over eight years...a little much. Just a thought

Many Things to do...

I have so much work to be done between now and Spring Break. Spring Break is now in site and I want to just hang out until then, but hat will not be the case. I have so many tests and assignments due before then it's crazy. I have a test in almost every class within the next week. I guess that positive side is that I will get to spend the whole spring break hanging out and not have to worry too much about studying or anything. When you look at it I guess it's better to have all these tests before spring break. It's just hard to stay concentrated when spring break is so close. I just have to stay focused for the next week and a half and stay on top of my work. My paper is coming along well for this class and once I am finished with it that will be one thing checked off on my long list of things to do. Spring break... hurry up and get here!
